A Letter To My Daughter

May you always know your worth. Always know there’s strength in tenderness. In compassion. In silence.

May you know the power of your words and use them for good. May you use your voice for those who have none.

May you stand up for yourself and what you believe in. Reclaim your light when others try to dim it. Shine brighter.

May you always know how infinitely and unconditionally loved you are.

May you travel and learn and grow and love, all with an open mind and open heart.

I wish to protect you from pain and grief and disappointment, but I can’t. So instead I will do my best to teach you how to cope with them. Teach you how to always find the light.

The world is yours, my beautiful girl. May you walk it and make it exponentially better than it was before you arrived.

And may you always know, deep in your bones, that you are loved.

Be proud of who you are and confident that who you are is more than enough.

You are smart and brave and kind and strong and I love you more than any of these words can tell you.
