I want you to grow your Instagram following organically. If I can do it, YOU can do it!
I know, I know. You’ve heard this a million times. So have I. I’m not here to divulge my magic Instagram recipe. I’m not swimming in likes and followers over here. But, I did implement a new strategy that boosted my Instagram in such a short amount of time that I NEED to share it with you.
Here are my Instagram stats from the month of August:
And here are my Instagram stats from the month of September:
I also increased my following by over 100. I’m not sure why that doesn’t show up in the stats. The few things I started doing differently are things that everyone has told me to do with my Instagram. They’re very simple, common sense changes that I just kept on the back-burner until I was ready to try them. By implementing these few changes, I literally grew my following in my sleep. I would wake up to new followers, tons of likes, comments from real people who I could then turn into real connections. Here’s what I did, and what YOU can do to grow your Instagram following organically.
Add a comment under every post with relevant hashtags. Include some that are general and some that are super specific. I use this hashtag generator sometimes when I’m feeling stuck.
Show some love. Go through your favorite accounts and like their content. The favor will be returned. This also is a great way to practice mindful procrastination. Instead of scrolling through Instagram and feeling sorry for yourself that your images aren’t as perfect or how you don’t have enough followers, practice showing love and applauding those who you feel are doing something right. Send out good energy in order to attract more of it into your life & biz.

I used to have this fear of following more people than followed me. That was stupid. I learned that when we follow new people on Instagram, the follow-back rate is around 25%. The trick here, is being mindful of who you follow. Make sure you’re following people who are potential clients, audience members or people you’d like to learn from/collaborate with.
After liking and following new accounts, start engaging with them. Start conversations, share your voice, ask questions. Instagram is typically a visual platform, but those visuals are posted by real people. It’s worth chatting with them and building relationships.
At the end of the day, it comes down to the Instagram algorithm. In short, the more active you are on the platform, the more you’ll show up in front of new followers. I’ve tried and tested these tips myself, so I know if you implement them you will be able to grow your Instagram following organically.
I’d love to chat with you and help you create a winning social media strategy to grow your online brand presence. I offer Brand Therapy packages that consist of brainstorm sessions where we bounce ideas off each other and craft a plan that’s sure to get your content in front of the people who need it.
