Pics or it didn't happen: how and why the best parts of my life don't make it to social media

The other day, as I was texting a bumpdate to my girlfriends, my husband quipped, “I miss your Instagrammers”. That’s the term I would use whenever I’d stop him mid-sentence and ask him to take my picture in front of some hashtag-worthy backdrop. “Oh, this will be a great Instagrammer”.

Truthfully, I don’t miss my Instagrammers. I don’t miss finding pieces of my life to photograph and share for likes. I don’t miss thumbing through filters. And I certaintly don’t miss waiting to eat my food before I take a picture of it first.

But, I’ve noticed I’m forgetting all the gems I collect every month that get buried in my phones photo stream. So, I’d like to dedicate one post every month to all my would-be Instagrammers and reminisce of the goodness of the past 30 days or so.

Hiding from the Sunday scaries.
Bye bye, toes. It was nice knowin’ ya!
Scored a new screensaver for my phone at the pumpkin patch.
It was the perfect day to fly a kite. And there was a kite festival by the beach.
Hoping the more I chill on the couch the more she’ll like to chill on the couch.
We left to go get lunch. He didn’t want to stay home. He opened the front door and jumped into the car before we could stop him. He was so happy!
My little slice of heaven.
When they ask for seconds after I just started the dishwasher.
My girl, just livin’ her best life.
